I cut my vh long shots baffles down to a 1/4 of the size they came with. I then welded the lip side back on so that way it looked like it did stock. you do need to make it look like that or it will rattle around in the pipe and annoy the crap out of you. sounds really good, I get complements on it all the time.

I wondered about that but I've never heard anyone on here suggest that. It's not hard to mess with mine, the heat shield and fishtails are bolted together so all i gotta do is unscrew the hose type clamps and I'm right there.Think I'll try cutting mine down and see how they sound, then try the washer trick and see what I like best......thanks buddy!
By the way,how long were yours to begin with? and how long would you say thay are now??

mine are now 3 1/2" long not including the "lips". it had just over 12" of baffle not including the lips to make it fit snug in the pipe. I had cut it 4 1/2" but it wasn't loud enough, and it rattled per my other post. so off came another inch and out came the welder. the other thing I did was use a dremal with a chainsaw sharping grinding wheel (thin cone shape) to get into the baffle and clean up the welds and smooth everything out.
