When you've had enough of the seap be sure to use james metal silicone base gasket. Its really not that big of a job especially if top end was just done so no machine work. Be sure to check cylinder studs for stretch.
If your running synthetic, switch to Dino & watch the leak stop!
You might try doing a re torque on the head bolts to confirm correct torque.
Hatch.
That is a good idea, too. I had oil leak from cylinder base, front and rear. Changed oil to Motul 10W50 and the leaks stopped. Before I was running on RevTech oil.
I'm running RevTech "pure" 20/50 W. I don't think it's synthetic but it does have more purifying done to prevent sludge build up in the oil tank. Does anyone think that changing from this oil would help? If so what should I try? What is "Dino"? Thanks guys.
Dino is non synthetic, (comes from dinosours) or petroleum based oil. I tried running Mobil 1 Vtwin 20-50 synthetic in my 99 EVO, and started to get the very tiniest weep from the base gaskets. I switched back to Castrol GTX 20-50 dino, and no more weep. I have 28,000 on mine, without a leak anywhere, but I do let it warm up before riding.

Ha! Hadn't heard that before. I thought it was a brand. I think I'll try the Castrol 20/50W as I know that's a good oil. Jeez, wouldn't it be great if that fixes it?
NutterFLH's post gives me hope.
