No problem in Kansas. It seems tornado alley has moved east. I am sure we will get ours when it starts warming up a little more next month.

NE Ohio. Lots of Rain and High winds. Power went out this morning for 5 hours. Weather said wind hit 60-70 mph in some areas. Lots of downed trees. We are good. Thanks for asking. Am sick of all the rain.

My daughter is in college, North central PA, while riding in a friend's pick up they had live wires fall accross the truck, lots of blue flashes. They waited until all the power went out, street lights, stores and etc, then backed up and out from under the wires. Golf ball size hail, 27 broken windshields in her parking lot...they had some storm.

Stay safe all!

Usually we are right in the path of all that stuff but most of it went to the south of us this time.We have been having some real nasty flooding though. We have had about a foot or more of rain in the last week or so and the rivers and lakes are out of the banks and levys are failing.I am on high ground here but alot of folks aren't so lucky.
Here is the Interstate 44 bridge across the Gasconade River near my place(pic taken earlier this week). It is normally a peaceful little stream here and about 50 feet from the bridge to the water surface. As you can see in the pic the water is within 10 feet of the bridge. The trees you see are sitting high up on the banks of each side with what should be a small stream far below between them.

Hi John,

Here in my area of MI we actually just missed the mess as it headed north just a few miles east of me with tornadoes to the north of me.

But we've had the wind and other rain.

I knew I was in trouble yesterday when I saw a pond forming on my south lot. That meant the water table was up and my basement turned into a spring river. Fortunately it's only a nuisance as the water runs in the old basement at one point (small crack between floor and wall) and streams across the floor to the sump drain. I have to be certain to watch out for sump pump issues or I would have a flood. I use a battery back up with a loud buzzer so I know in the middle of the night if something has gone wrong with this. Also a higher up sensor for the house alarm system in case I'm not home. Power outages can be such a panic when the sump is running a lot from storms.

If I'm really lucky the water table will drop with the thaw and I won't have another issue for a few more years. It's hard to consider the repair costs seeing as how it is not an annual issue, maybe more like once every 4 to 5 years we have an excessively wet winter and spring that I have any issues at all.

Last decent day for a ride was both Easter and the Saturday before. Got to get out and put some more miles on my "proper running" ride. Looks like today and tomorrow it'll be good for spring riding too. Then back to the early spring chill and more rain.

We have wall-to-wall royal wedding at present, but have had news of some of the 'weather' over the Atlantic. Best wishes to everyone anywhere nearby.
