I have a sound like that on mine and I have decided it is either a buckle on one of my bags or my tools rattling around. I figure if it is something else I will find out what when it breaks.
Two things that I found after awhile that sounded much the same.
First, the small spring that held the ignition cover closed (FLSTC) fell off and the cover was tap tap tapping and driving me crazy.
Second, one of my fuel filler caps does not tighten fully and it vibrates and causes a similar sound.
Sometimes a loose muffler core can sound like that.
Great suggestion. My Samsons made that type of sound. Drilled a screw in to hold the core tight, good for 4 years now. I have hard bags so no ones the wiser.
Its easy to check out the primary chain. I'd put an auto adjuster on it {m6} and ya got your auto adjuster. If you didnt have the noise before you had the work done, good chance thats where its at.
Too many coins in your pocket may cause some noise.
Front brake pads do make some noise, too. Saddlebag latches, fender tip light, license plate, brake lines may touch other parts while vibrating, worn out muffler hangers, rear fender "bumper" etc.
I`m having a lot of noises on my bike. It drives me mad but can`t find where it comes from.
I'd go with TC, my ingnition cover tings all the time and my left gas cap(the vented on) does same. Easy to check, just put a hand on it when you hear it next time to see if the noise stops.

+1 on this. My ignition cover on my '86 FLST makes a jingling noise as well.Mine still has the spring but unless I have the keys in the ignition when I'm riding the cover vibrates constantly at cruising speed. Sounds like it's not something obvious like this that you have. I just know that when you are moving down the road on a bike with wind, road noise etc it's hard to tell where a noise is coming from. Maybe you can get someone in a car to listen while you drive....
