So two weekends ago I went to one of those song and dance hooplas that dealers always do. Since getting this bike it was the first time I had it out around a crowd. I must say it sure was nice seeing my evo parked there among all those twin cams. A few of which must have just bought them the day before but I won't get into that.
Anyway just wanted to mention. I can tell I made the right choice in getting this one and canning the twin cam.
I've been off any cycle for 20 yeras or so.....just got me a cherry 1998 Dyna Convertible. I couldn't feel any better with a 2011....In fact, since I bought this baby cash, not having that big payment on a new ride.....just tickles me even more.
A friend who's wife wants him out of riding sold me his 1996 FLHTC with 5K miles on motor/tranny owner-financed for $5K. Back in the day, I was a real Shovel snob where EVO's and the RUB movement were concerned. A dresser wouldn't have been my first choice, but this is the only way I could've gotten back in and he knew it. I've since come to love this bike and have been racking up the memories with wrenching and rides. It's good to be back and an EVO is a solid bike.
I just haven't gotten my head around all the geegaws and doodads gooped all over this bike. I like it, but I haven't brought myself to ride with the radio on, yet. 8)

hey joker, I prefer to listen to my cool evo motor, radio was removed right away. Never even turned it on. Same as the trunk, gone forever!
Only one new thing I would like, abs, but will never happen on a '94.
well I should say 2 things, 6 spd and that will happen!
2006flst....I have to say, your bike is beautiful!
I wish good luck to both you guys, you will love the evo's!
They have never let me down....knock on wood!....can't say that about my shovel...but loved the old gray ghostl!

I wanted to mention that reading your post about Dale Sanders and his carbs was my final motivation to get mine rebuilt from him. It was one of the best choices I have made.
I purchased my first HD almost a month ago. 91 FLHT. Sure, it had 60K on it, no history known as I got it from a indy bike shop, but I sure do love my bike. I have already turned the wrench multiple times and I fall in love with it more and more. Someday I think I want a newer bike, but I think it would be hard to give up this engine. I am doing sooo much reading on it, finding out just how good it is!
