Any one know a easy way to get a tappet plug out that is all jacket up bought the bike and messed up. I bought a plug tool but it just walks out of slot help. If it matters it is a 99 eve fatboy. Any help would be great
Mine was like that and I had a flat blade screw socket, I used an exrension and
tapped on the end while holding pressure on it and they will pop loose.
Sometime you can get a centerpuch or small chisel to work. You may have to use a dremel to grind a spot on the plug so you will have a good flat spot for the chisel to bite into it. Just tap it lightly in the loosening direction.
Or you could even use the dremel to just grind on the notch to make it cleaner The bit will stay in the notch then and not try to slip out.

Yep twisted hit the nail right on the head. They are available from Harbor Frieght/Northern Tool for a very reasonable price. While you are there you can also find a suitable 3/8" drive screwdriver socket to go with it. By all means replace them with a set of either socket head or hex heads pieces. When installing them, no loc-tite and remember they aren't head bolts!!!!
