I recently had this problem, but needed longer cable. There are a number of different length Harley cables for different model bikes. As far as I know, they are all interchangeable with exception of two different size threads at speedo end. Any cable with same size thread as your model will fit, the ones I found came in approx 2 inch differences in length. Look in a catalog ( I looked in J&P) and they have all stock cable lenghts and thread sizes listed by model name. Look up you model to find correct thread size to match.
Contact Barnett's they will custom make any length cable for you. I wouldnt put it on the slider as the up and down motion would kill the speedo in a very short time. Hope this helps.
Want to relocate to forks or side of downtubes . . . what to do with such a long cable?
You can't really hide a speedo cable to the front wheel. It has to have a nice gentle loop to work correctly and to stay off the fender when you go to full lock. If you want to hide it, they make kits to run it off the rear wheel or you can change to electric.
