No, we just ain't communicating here, Reece. "Ish " is used where it is relative. I said:
If the battery voltage with the headlight on, bike not running is less than around 11.5-ish, I’d replace the battery. If it’s 10, it’s past it’s prime.
That is for that particular test. It is relative. If the voltage is 11.something, that's "ISH." and the lower into 11's, the more I lean to "battery's junk." I also said:
Check voltage across battery terminals (12.8). Turn bike on. Check voltage (less than previous, ~12.0+, depending on headlight, accessories). Start bike and let idle. Check voltage (could be 12.0 to 15). Rev to about 2500. Check voltage (should be more than observed with bike on but motor not running, and more than with bike off. Ideally between 13 and 15.)
and did you pass that test?

We still don't know what's wrong with your bike. Could be just the regulator, or the stator could be fried, but if you don't follow my instructions exactly, we'll never know, and really, guy, I think some professional assistance at this point would be money well spent.

Im capable and I can follow directions, most if not all of my free time riding happens to and from work. I work 24 on, 24 off (fireman) and 10 to 11 off my "off" hours are spent at a second job at a machine shop.

Just boils down to time really, and as much as I'd lime to hear "yup, had the exact same problem. Change ……)" isn't going to happen. Finally got it (knucklehead).

I'm getting off in the morning at 730, and they don't expect me at my part time gig until 9-10 so ill have some time to check reg and stator per your steps.

Thanks again.

The plug that goes from the regulator to the stator was not making a good connection. Flared the pin out a little and now she's making contact. Tested stator out put and continuity per the link and its good.

Charging to 14.7 now.

Thanks for the nudge.

Make sure the pins and sockets are clean as well, or one or the other will arc and burn up. Not many things more frustrating than to have to buy a new regulator and stator because the connectors are burnt to a crisp, especially when you know the units themselves are still good, but you can't find replacement connectors.
If you ever do have to replace them, save the connectors if serviceable.

Not sure what ID Red is. In terms of electrical connections, bare shiny metal is clean.
