So here I am trying to sell my sporty to get my new bike and I get 3 or 4 emails from people wanting to buy it im pretty sure they are all scam. I am deployed oversea so I wont be doing any transaction till i get back. but it funny 90% of the email written with diffrent email account was word for word the same. It sad that you cant sell stuff with out getting screwed sorry for the rant just pissed off
You can put a phrase in your ad copy specifying respondents use a certain subject say, "ralph" in the reply. Any response not using the word Ralph can be deleted cause it was probably created by a non human... Crazy world we live in, stay safe out there.
Did you put a thread in the classifieds here on HDForum ? I sold my Ultra here back in August. It sold based on the photos I posted and it was wrecked to boot. Buyers are out there you just have to find them. I recommend you use a disposable email address for Craigslist adds. Throw it away after the sale.

I agree totally here! I have thrown away several email adresses after using craigslist also. When I signup on on something on the internet and have to use a email....but don't want to be bothered....I'll use a totally fake email.
I'll still get crap email on my regular used email. I don't know how they get the adress or who they even are.
Put the ad on craigslist but select hide email, i know you then have to put a phone number but here is what i do.
I mix up the number with letters which makes it unclickable.
example: 805-456-2489 = 8o5-4five6-two48nine
Doing that cuts out 99.9% of the bull that comes via CL. I sell alot of stuff on craigslist, occasionally there is a company (can't remember the name, but its ALWAYS the same one) that calls on a vehicle i have listed. Doesnt happen often, but all they want you to do is pay to list your vehicle with them. I just yell at em for a bit then hang up.
you may have to consider the buyers perspective too. i buy alot of things on craigslist, and sell too. but i wont buy anything that i dont meet the seller in person, and hand them cash( or them me). theres NO WAY in hell id buy a bike from someone stationed in the middle-east, and have someone else there with the title and such. i want to see the person named on the title, check an ID, and shake hands when the deal is done.
