Default First Generation Fairing Speaker Covers

I'm starting some of my winter projects and decided my speaker covers looked like crap so I started removing them not knowing they were glued on with industrial adhesive. They had been replaced when the inner fairing was repainted years ago. Anyway, they are made of thin plastic and now I have pieces. I've searched the net and can't find a mention of first gen speaker covers. Does anyone know of a source for these?

First get the part number, then get a HD map from your local dealer. The map has all the dealers names, addresses, and phone numbers. Start closest to you and work your way out. If they don't have it ask if they may know who does, as a lot of dealers sold out older inventory to independent dealers before the internet. Many dealers do not include their discontinued inventory in their computers, plus Harley dealers actually use one of two programs to list their inventory and they don't have the ability to search each other.
When you re-install the grilles use contact adhesive, apply it with a Q-tip and do it very sparingly on the grille or you will stain them. Hope this helps.

Thanks Mia, I appreciate your suggestion. I stopped by the dealer and they ordered them for me, $12 each. That was the first time I've had any luck finding parts from the dealer for that bike other than a kickstand spring.

Glad it worked out. Be very careful with the adhesive as it will stain the speaker grill and look like death. Just take a Q-tip and apply it sparingly to the very edge of the grill and the matching surface on the inner fairing.
