Default A/c change

Ok EVO bros as per my wants of upgrades to my 89 flhtp I would now like to upgrade the a/c setup for better breathing , presently I have the cv carb with the stock plastic back a/c holder. I'd like to know that what ever I upgrade to gives much better performance air flow and hopefully up the mpg. So suggestions please?

I use the Screaming Eagle Hi-Flow kit but with a K&N filter.

I've read alot of good things about this but always seen them in the past for newer evo's which once again they probably still bolt on same as the stock plastic backer.

In the short term, You can drill a bunch of holes in the black plastic backer to let more air through. It's still filtered & no one can see it until you pull your filter!
Hatch.

Prety much any aftermarket air filter will flow better than the stock one. So go with a good name-brand that you like the looks of. I would however stay away from the Hypercharger as it is over priced for what you get. Hope this helps.

Lynn, I just described that airbox in another thread as an induction silencer. The SE air filter essentially replaces that black plastic moulding with a flat disc against which the new air filter is clamped. K&N are bound to make a kit!
