Hoping I can find this without pulling the fairing completely off. TIA.
Hey whats up, had a thought; don't know if this would work but could you use an early model ignition switch like off a Shovelhead ? I have a 77' and first click is power on and second click turns on the lights. It might work. Ask around

Ok now I have something to work with. Thanks for all the replies and the extra effort to load the wiring diagram. I don't have a service manual for this bike yet. I had the batwing off over the weekend and couldn't figure it out. Easy off & back on so off again soon. Really appreciate the help!!

Here's what I did for my '03 springer. Headlight is out while cranking then comes on as soon as I release the start button. I put the relay under the gas tank on the frame. Might work for you. I got the relay at a stereo shop with the harness. $20

Default Stumped...

Ok I have the batwing off and there isn't a jumper wire between the fuses that I can see. There isn't a solid green in the gang of 4 fuses. The wire color codes don't match but that would be just luck. Before pulling the faring I double check and started and the headlight is on during cranking.

Fuse block somewhere else???

Bump: Bike is a 1996 FLHTCI. Fuse block is on top of the radio. Second fuse in from righthand side (standing facing front of headlight) is "lights". Has 2 solid blue wires. Looks like 18 gauge and 1 red/black stripe 14 gauge. No solid green wires to any fuse. No loop jumper that I can see. Headlight stays on while cranking as noted.

Ok I got a chance to look in the manual and your schematic is definately different than mine is. I now understand why the others made the suggestions they did.

Looking at the schematic though I think if I really wanted to try isolating ignition startup from lights I might try wiring an inline on/off switch. I had one on my bike before I rewired my lights.

On my '82 Sportster years ago, it was the green wire to the ignition. Harley mechanic said just snip it in half. Worked like a charm. Not sure on the mid 90's FLH's. Gonna go look at mine.

RidemyEVO: Funny I was actually thinking about adding a on/off switch this afternoon to get it over with. I guess just a toggle switch on the low beam wire should do it? Agree?
