Default Help with engine cleaning.

So, I had Bertha on the lift tonight and it's really the first time I've looked "under" her.

She has a lot of "gunk" on the bottom side. I'd like to spray some type of cleaner to get the oil ect. off, but I don't want to harm anything.

What would you all use?

Thanks,

Scott

Yup, me too. Took a couple of applications but really got the frame and case down to dry metal. Have the engine a little warm and use hot water rinse for best results IMO.

I've found that GOJO hand cleaner works really well.

Does it take paint off or harm hoses/cables? I'm gonna work on it tonight.

It wont effect paint/hoses, but you have to wash it off with a water hose so just be aware of any electrical parts in the area your cleaning. Of course the bottom of these bikes sees plenty of water throughout their life, so it'll be fine as long as your not aiming directly for electrical components.

Not sure about paint I (didn't spray it on the painted parts) but it didn't hurt the powder coating or the hoses.
