Not sure about paint I (didn't spray it on the painted parts) but it didn't hurt the powder coating or the hoses.
Thanks. The bikes engine seems to be painted black and I didn't want to take the chance of removing it. I'm gonna give the Gunk a try tonight regardless and I'll let you know how it does.
I love Super Clean for grease, but beware of what you spray it on. I wouldn't spray it on paint or anything that does not need it. The underside of the bike is probably OK. Do not ever spray it on polished Alum., or you will etch it. Keep it off you hands also has it will suck all the oil out of your skin. Rubber gloves needed, if your going to get it on your skin.
Believe it or not.....Dow bathroom cleaner, you know the "scrubbing bubbles" stuff. The off brands dont work as well as the Dow though. I got a tip from a hotrodding buddy about it, it really does clean things up pretty good, and can get into places that are almost impossible to clean. Cant really hurt anything and is easy to use spray on.......let it sit for a few minutes and wash off with water.....cheap too.
Starting fluid will melt grease and oil VERY fast too.
Another believe it or not....Dawn dishwashing liquid. Get a busket of as hot as water as you can stand and a car wash sponge, let sit for 2-3 minutes (don't let dry) and rinse. For those hard to reach places I use a turkey baster to squirt the soapy water. Might take 2-3 passes but it works well and doesn't hurt anything because it's fairly mild but really cuts through the grease. Make sure you rinse the driveway too or it will leave a stain.
I too have used dawn dishwashing liquid - in fact, I've used several different brands of dishwashing liquid. they have worked pretty good for light grease; for that 1/2" thick bottom of a leaky jeep transfer case type grease I've used Easy-Off oven cleaner with pretty good results (surely you don't have that much grease under there

Dawn dishwashing soap will probably work well also. DO NOT wash your bike or car with it however. Wash your bike with dawn and it will strip every bit of wax off it. In fact it is recommended for stripping of old wax, before rewaxing.
Thats why you don't take your car to the boyscout etc. carwash in some parking lot, they love to use dish soap.
