Default Ignition connection

Kind of just like the title says. I swapped out my cam cover and as you guys know when ever you pull the igniton out of the cam cover the wires are connected all the way upto the coil voes and or stock ignition pack. So question is I have the 5 wires from my ultima ignition snipped down around the height of the rear brake pivot arm and I plan to reconnect the 5 wires to the 5 wires that come down now hanginging next to the frame, would it be better just to resolder the wire connections or make up connectors soldered to the wires?
I have some narrow flat connectors male and female and I can solder these to the wires along with shrink tube but I would still need to coat the metal bared connectors in tape.
Advice / oppinions Please?

I would just solder and shrink tube the connections. I never use connectors unless I need to disconnect the wires pretty regular! Especially on an ignition item.

You ever have a question and come up with the answer or decision right after you hit post? Ya I think best just to solder with heat shrink.

I do that all the time!! And I use the hell outta the 'edit' button after I post!!!
Soldering and shrink tubing is the best way 99% of the time! That way ya never worry about that splice again.

The wires coming from the new ignition go to the coil (three of them), the VOES (one of them) and the tach (the last one). If the wires that you are going to hook them to went to the old stock ignition they won't work (unless you had an aftermarket ignition installed). also your coil needs to be a single fire one as the ignition is single fire.
\Normally we run the wires on the module right to where they need to go rather then splicing them as we don't know if one of the originals is getting ready to wear through and short out. Hope this helps.

Thanks John , Basicly I was just swapping out cam covers and had to snip the Ultima wires and reconnect them. I have them reconnected ,soldered and heat shrunk, it's all good.

Using the connectors wouldn`t be a bad idea, but You choose a wrong place for it. Moisture, water, dirt, sand etc. would make the connection a pain in the ****. If it was near the coil or under the tank, it`s OK.
