Default First REAL Ride.

Took Ester on a decent ride today, bout 200 miles or so. Went by my local indy shop to get his take on the amount of noise she was making. He said "thats about right for an early EVO". So I'm not gunna worry about it (this is my first EVO).

Riding impressions;

I think I need a new front rubber mount, there is a pretty good amount of vibration and shake in the handlebars and frame at about 2000 rpms. My rear brake has issues, I had to open the bleeder to release the pads from the rotor. I think the preasure release hole might be plugging, so I will tear it apart and clean everything out and see. I replaced the brake fluid and seemed to be working ok, but I guess not.

As for the motor.....it seems to have more power than my 05 RK with the 88 twinkie that I had, more grunt too. I do need to rejet the carb though, It will ping under a decent load. Havent looked to what jets are in the CV carb. All in all.......I love this bike. I HIGHLY RECOMEND the Revtech gold emulators and replacement springs for the front suspension.....TREMENDOUS IMPROVEMENT over stock.

LOVE THE FLT FAIRING!!! The windshield is to short for me, but I will be getting a Vstream for it for long distance and for around town it works ok.

I do a 200 mile everytime I go out, basicly a tank and a bit of gas, great to hear you got her out.
Ok shake at 2000 rpm is not real normal , 700 rpm perhaps, definately check the motor mounts. Pinging , back off the timing a bit. Brakes , well I just did my rear with a new cylinder kit and pads and pretty much lost 85% of the fluid when I took the master cylinder kit out and pretty much the rest I bled out clean through the caliper, so hopefully mine won't mess up anymore. I;ve heard nothing but good for that type of fairing for long long trips.
