I looked and looked. Then, one day, the bike in my sig came up for sale. I may have paid more than she's actually worth, but, I haven't regretted my decision for one day..........

You'll get lots of opinions, but, my suggestion is to shop, shop, and then,
shop a little more.......lots of smokin deals out there.

I love my "black " bastard" a 97 flhtc fully loaded..done to my liking. Got it from michigan city Harley Davidson in Indiana , I consider ths bike to be bertha's bother......bu the only bike I'd trade this for in a minute without batting an ey is Bertha herself....that bike screams to me......I just love the way she looks.

As for the police road king...if it runs good and drives good no leaks no issues that's all you can really go by at time of purchase.....the cop bikes can be great aNd should be cheaper usually.

I found one that I like its in OK shape and he is asking $6400 what would you offer for the bike there is no leaks and it runs well I took it for a spin today I was thinking $5000 or $5500

I'm seeing the road kings that year with 25-50,000 miles go for between 8500-9500.00 depending on mileage, color and accessories and mods. Remember these are usually older than what you will find at most dealerships because it's harder to get banks to finance them. So usually these are private sellers, you might find some 94's at dealerships depending......you were a little vague tho....

How many miles, what color, any mods or extras like bags , stereo, fairing, windshield etc?

I'll wait to hear from ya but I'd say 6400.00 is very fair or the road king of that year. I'd say maybe offer 6000.00 and see but I'd guess your close to rock bottom. Getting into sportster territory at 6000.00

It depends where you are as well, bikes seem to be more expensive up here in Canada compared to the states. Just my two cents.

I can't tell a ton but it looks pretty normal....Aftermarket pipes..red lenses in rear...windshield....offer what your comfortable paying...if you could get it for 5800, cash I'd say that a steel. If he drops to even 6000.00 then our still better than average. As long as there's no leis, no obvious motor ticking....I'd say if that's what your looking for then go or it if your comfortable.

Earlier advice to shop, shop, then shop some more cant be overstated, there are tons of deals to be had, I understand the urgency as cycle season is upon us, the prices are rising, deals are being gobbled up, but be patient......this bike if running good is an awesome platform to build on, even at 6000.00 if you did need a fresh top end your still way ahead of the game.
