Little cool this morning when I started the bike and had to leave the enricher on for a little longer than usual due to the fact I lost the throttle lock screw last time I had the bike out. Seemed to run fine at first (a little on the cool side) then when put under load or accelerating hard it missed like a pig. Tack seemed to be acting quite erratic at times even though no change in the motor rpm’s. I am leaning towards fouled plugs but have not checked yet (too cold out and snowing a bit) the only thing that makes me wonder is the tack this seems more like an electrical problem (moisture). Just wondering if any thoughts or advice on other things that I might want to take a look at? Cheers
Erratic tach when the motor is not changing RPM is indication of an electrical problem. Start with the basics: What's the voltage across the battery when it is running? If that is moving around, the tach will move around with it. Next, check the coil connections, ground strap, etc.

What Dr. Hess said. Also check the plugs as well to see if they did foul. Mine will do the exact same thing if I run too much choke. But like you said the tach is going nuts so that leans toward electrical.
by thread title i thought your bike was stolen haha wouldnt hurt to check the plugs i fouled a set real quick with the enricher when i first got the bike
Yeah I thought that to after I posted it "Missing". I went and got new plugs (needed them soon anyway) old ones didn’t look that bad but changed them any ways. So as per the Dr’s recommendation took of the bag, the side panel and went to begin what thought might be a long day of electrical hell and as I went to check the battery voltage off came the + wire. The crimp connector had worn through and the shrink was all that was holding it on when I was ridding yesterday. Went off to auto parts store got a starter cable and back in the saddle for an excellent Saturday. Thanks lads, see you on the road.
