well i bought the manifold for 35 bucks (direct fit for the evo)
and i find out in two hours if i won the carb
should i put bigger jets in because of the motor build?

Just put the '88 sporty needle in it and turn the idle mixture screw out 2 turns to start. Read the plugs and go from there.

well i just won the carb for 80 bucks! so next week i will get everything to get it together...pretty excited over here

so for the intake,carb, and gaskets it costs me $150 shipping and all, i would say not bad, and ideas on an intake setup for the cv?

Well, the CV carburetor needs a support for the front. It just is held in place in the rear by a gasket. So unless you want to use the Harley Air Cleaner, get the carburetor support bracket (29116-83) used on the Keihin carburetor. It will provide the support needed without the big air box of the original.


I do have the original High flow Air Cleaner used on my EVO.
It has the base plate, filter, and uses the factory A/C Bell.

so i pulled the intake gaskets and there was oil inbetween the gasket and sitting in the port?
what would this be from?

Bad valve guide seals. You might need a head job.
Or at least the springs removed and seals replaced.

I don't know if a head job will fix the bike but the next time I find something wrong with the white bike, I'll see how the wife responds, havn't used that line yet.
