Default engine cutting out

I have a 98 fatboy. Just installed a ev27 cam and sampson short shot pipes with no baffles. I have a s&s super e carb. At higher rpms it will start cutting out. I checked my main jet it was a .042 i bought a .044 and a .046 tried both jets still no change. Running down the hwy at 65 i can roll on the throttle when i get 75 to 80 mph she starts cutting out. I pulled the cam sensor cover off last night and noticed some melting would this be my issue? I also installed adjustable se push rods when i adjusted them i went 2 1/2 turns. Runs great until i get to higher rpms. Ive also adjusted carb to how s&s says it should be adjusted.

Check the easy stuff first. Is your gas cap venting? Melted sensor plate could be bad . Once they start to melt its a good time to get a new one. Save yourself some money and get the one without the bank angle sensor.

I unscrewed both gas caps and tried it still no change. Im going to get a new cam sensor today and try it. I was going to post a picture of it but not sure how.

I'm guessing it didn't happen before the cam and pipe upgrade? Did you do anything to the electrical system?

Try putting baffles in the short shots. and if that don't work I would check fuel tap isn't blocked and maybe plug wires or coil.

I think i found the issue. The acc. pump shaft leaks fuel around it when u roll on the throttle.

These pipes come stock without baffles. I just put new harley plugs and screamin eagle wires on it.

Im not sure i never got on it hard. Last night i was on a back road trying to adjust the carb, every once in awhile she would take full throttle and run like a mother.

I was going to suggest it's something electrical. If you changed or removed the coil for any reason, check it. The small terminals are prone to twist and break inside the coil.
But if you have a leaky accelerator pump, that needs to be addressed first though.
