Default No oil flow problem

1984 FXR EVO

So my oil quit flowing for some reason. I noticed a tick in the valves for about 200 miles, that developed into a "throbbing" oil light that would go away at higher rpms, then one day it got hot on me. When it got hot I was fortunatly going down a LONG hill so I killed the ignition and coasted at about 50mph down the hill. I then started it back up and rode up to the top of the hill to my driveway. At this point it was starting to get hot again so I killed it as I was approaching my driveway and let it cool down before going down my driveway. When I hit the starter button I got a loud and hard "CLACK" but then it sarted and I was able to ride it into the garage.
Upon inspection I discovered that I was not getting any oil flow.

So far I have:
1. taken off the nose cone and inspected the worm gear that drives the oil pump and the keys that drive the gears on the shaft they where all in very good shape.

2. Installed a brand new ultima high pressure oil pump

3. replaced all of the oil lines

4. verified I am getting oil from the supply to the pump input

5. made sure the path of the oil going into the crank case is clear

I STILL get no oil. I am at a complete loss here. I am wondering if I do not have a clog inside the crank case?

Are you running a twin cam oil filter?

Make sure your oil filter is the proper one. Take the filter off & crank the bike with the plugs out. Your looking for oil coming out the filter housing.
If nothing is there you might have to go into the cam chest & pull the breather looking for damage. Confirm no kinks in your new oil lines. Confirm there is no plugged spigots.
Being that it is mechanical, there will be a visual problem with some part of the system. Could be a plugged off line, a piece of crap in your oil bag that intermittently plugs the out bound oil, A thermostat or oil cooler that has collapsed in on itself, A plugged screen in the pump etc.
Keep us posted!
Hatch.

Did you prime the new pump?

Had an oil supply hose separate internally and close off , oil would flow out but under suction it choked , drove me nuts for 3 days before I changed them on a lark and found a chunk of the rubber loose .

what a few of these guys had already said.... make sure you have the correct oil filter!

and do NOT listen to the dealer when they tell you that a TC filter will work for your evo...it may very well fit, but it will NOT push the oil properly
