Default Removing EVO oil tank

The oil light came on my '97 Fatboy. I check the oil and it needed a quart. It normally does not use oil. I added a qt. I use Mobile 1 Synthetic Oil. It still came on. I replaced the tappet oil screen filter. It still came on. I figured that I needed to flush the tank and possibly go ahead and replace the lines. Hopefully it is not the pump. Anyway, how do I go about removing the tank and is there anything that I need to be aware of in removing it??

The only hard part is removing the 2 small nuts hiding right behind the battery.

I think what they are saying (and I agree) is that it is more likely your pump, the oil lines, or the sending unit that operates your light.

While flushing out your tank is a good idea I highly doubt it will fix your problem.

my 91 pump went out, before I shut it down, when I took it apart it turned out to have a broken gear tooth that shiftedthe crank, had to do a rebuild with a new pump. crank work bore 10 over with new Wiseco pistons.

While being trained I was told that the only thing we can be certain of if a warning light comes on is that the bulb works! So check the wiring and grounds associated with it, plus the thing that turns it on. Check the oil level is actually correct by dipstick or torch. If you remove the oil tank all you will find inside is a dark space!
