I have a 1985 flhtc that i'm getting fixed up and have running pretty sound mechanically.
the only thing i have left is to choose an air cleaner. (i'm waaaay too indecisive)
my question has to do with starting on the cosmetics. i need to replace my hard side saddle bags. i'd like to put the newer style bags on it. (mine have a clasp in back and a metal hook in the front.) how can i make these fit in my baskets, and still fit with the battery. (my current right side has a "wheel well" in it to go around the battery.)
i'm actually ok with removing the baskets completely if i need to. just trying to see what my options are. could they be mounted back further to accommodate the battery?
thanks for the help.
ok sure, any advice on an aircleaner as well? i have cv carbs on it.
We have several threads relating to doing this, including here and here.
I'm currently making the conversion, but it is work in progress and not yet complete. I have several exciting things going on at the same time! My thread is here.
I suggest you get a very long drink, some peace and quiet and read! Then ask any questions.
