Hi was wondering bought a replacement battery and the posts are not flush with the side of the battery.I need a little spacers do they have to be lead spacers? Also the bolts will be to short with spacers can i just use a regular steel bolt? Thanks
Did you buy a Harley battery or aftermarket. I hate those little square ding bobs you have to put in the hold just right with small screw driver. It should have 2 square pieces that fit in terminal then to small tubes to shim it out. Depending on manufacturers. I go with HD now the threads are in the terminals. I got burnt by this also with well known distributor.
I have a bunch of different ones some silver looking not lead and brass looking ones. It should work just make sure nothing is going to arc. I would call who ever you bought it from. I bet they have no problem sending you that bag of parts that should of come with it. Most companies are good about that, simple mistake. They may even over night it. If it's conductible it will work just try to get the right parts coming. Mean while ACE is the place or if you have an Indy shop they probably have tons in plate on a shelf and love to help.
usually they are brass spacers but any metal spacer would word, believe the bolts are metric but other than that yes any bolts will work that are the correct thread
Sorry last reply some terminal screws have one of those pointy washers so it will lock in place. Worst thing could happen is it will start you'll ride off never come home.
Get ready to install another battery in about 5 months, my battery went out when I was on the road and the only place around was a Honda dealer so I bought the Interstate battery they said had the proper cranking power and it lasted about 5 month before it took a ****
what do recommend for a battery?I have used interstate in my vehicles before and never had a problem?Harley battery is way to much and i am pretty sure harley doesnt make there on batteries
