Run the power from the lights feed that comes out of the ign switch. If you actually mean "Acc" then its the same thing, use a meter to find a power wire with the properties you desire and splice into that.

Thanx Spanners39, i have had a meter on the switch to look for a good source but cant find one. If looking down at switch(5oclock)...call it post 1, it and up two to the right is (post 3), call them live with ignition switch off, all the rest(4 of them) are off, when switch is turned to lights 5 of six are on and when in ignition/run postion all 6 are live, there fore not shutting down my new electrical outlet i wanna wire. I need this new source to only have power when the switch is in the off and in the lights postion and then off when swtch is turned to run/ignition position.....can git the outlet to run but its on all the time and thats not required....and never off....thanx for the reply

It depends what the outlet is for...it may not need to be off when ign is on.

Because you need your lights when the motor is running you may not find it in that circuit but in the accessory curcuit you should be good to go...what bike/year have you got? I could advise you better with a wiring diagram but from my dyna manual the acc feed is red/gray as opposed to red/black for ign....that red/gray goes to a separate breaker and so if you found that one for your bike you could tap the feed off of that.

So you don't have an ign switch with an "Acc" position, that will make it very hard to do without a separate switch.

switch is stock, Acc. is on the right, prob is the speedo light then stays on along with the new outlet i want to add.....and in the Acc. position, am not able to lock the switch and leave the scooter.....if i pull the bulb in the speedo, that would solve the prob and then i could use the Acc. side but i then would not have a lighted speedo while ridin and like i said, would not be able to lock switch with switch bein in Acc position......thanx

I would just wire straight to battery and add a switch....don't you have the accessory jack plug already in the bike?....not sure what year they started doing that, my 1998 has one but they don't have a switch, its just a waterproof plug and you plug your phone, razor, sex toys...whatever, straight into it.

You may try a relay off the HOT wire. So when you turn the ign. off, the relay powers your compent. Just need a relay with a normally closed circuit so when the bikes is on there is no power to your new circuit, cause the norm.closed circuit will open when energised and when bike is off then the normally closed circuit closes again provides your power.

i think i follow U Bullys but if i understand correctly, the hot wire U say with ignition switch off is always hot, regardless of of switch position, so i think it will never go out, because it will be always on......f__k im gittin confused.... thanks boys, may just have to add a manual switch switch to make it work, would have liked to use the igniton switch though, nice and clean look....hoped that a 7 post/pole switch was available on one of the other models that would fit....maybe someone else will post....Bullys, u git what im sayin.....it will always be on.....
