Yes i have the bastard year. First year evo....yay... 5sp...enclosed chain secondary. I kinda need help. I dumped it about 10 years ago. it(she) has been inside since. i check on her every week. house burned down with the title in it. The jackass that towed it put a J hook arround the front forks and drug it out of the marsh. I have new fork tubes and lowers. should i get rid of the anti dive front end or restore it? It seems less expensive to replace it . Thanks, If i was to bring tea cake or donuts i will. coffee?
Personally I prefer things as original as possible, most of the manufactures ideas were a good thing others not so good.
Thank you. I liked the anti-dive when i was riding it. It has the reserve air in the engine guard. I am a little worried about having to replace all of the seals when i rebuild it, and rubber lines. Not sure if i can find an Indy here in Charleston SC who has dealt with it.
i have the same year bike as yours, and ya i still use the anti-dive.. it still works good... and i did replace the front tubes as well.... my 84 is all stock but i did replace the batwing fairing. i wanted a radio so i put on a fairing from a 86... works good...now if i can get that dame clip on my oil pump....
Years ago I replaced my anti-dive with regular Progressive springs. It rode real nice and I never missed the anti-dive. Now I'm gearing up to change to monotubes. There are better options today than what the '84 came with back in the day.

Thank you. Great suggestion and very affordable. I think that is the way i will go also.
