Default Exhaust Question

What slip on Fishtails will fit my '91 TG? I see them listed for '95 and up. Is there any difference between the exhaust of a '91 and a '95?

Short answer: yes. The pre-95 header pipes have a different type of mount that will not accept the 95-up muffler.

So you have two choices: Find someone who still makes/sells mufflers for pre-95 dressers, or modify the header pipes by cutting off the flange at the end. If you modify the header pipes, then any 95 and up slip-on should fit.

Cycle Shack still makes slip-ons for pre-95. I have a pair that I got about 6 years ago. I got the ones with the 'woven steel blanket' on the baffle; they are free-flowing but not overly loud and are holding up just fine. Here's a pic of Cycle Shack fishtails (on a Twinkie, obviously, but the muffler itself would look the same):

The baffle isn't removable I take it? Dis swapping those out from the stock pipes require a rejet?

What type of air filter do you have? If it's still stock, the best way to approach this is to update both the pipes and air filter together for freer flow, and then make adjustments to the carb.
