Ran across a guy with a blk 97 super glide. Low miles round 12,000 for bout 7 grand. Ss carb, Andrews gears lowered progressive shocks. My question is this. I've sat on them with thecfwd controls and I'm ok comfort wise but as a 6'3. 280 lb guy am I gonna look like a total ape on a banana on this? Also any evo guys got a super out there? Anyone had any issues? Just looking for as much info as I can. I want a hopper. This might wor Hugh?
If you're really that worried about it, ride through town until you find a store front with a BIG window, park in front of it and check out your reflection. Best bet is early morning or late evening, when the store is closed so the lights are out inside.
Of course if you're comfortable on it and it fits you well, who cares what you look like on it? It's still a Harley, it's not like a 250 Rebel from the MSF courses! BTW, I've got you beat; 6'5" and just shy of 300... LOL!
When I started out looking for a Evo, I wanted a bagger at first, but came across a good deal on the 96 Lowrider I have now. I'm 6'1, 235lbs & care less what I look like on it. Rides rough as hell on rough road's, only cus it's lowered, but on good roads, its a blast to ride! Get a lot of compliments on it, when I go on run's. Would do it again. Wouldn't wan't to go cross country on it, but good for a days ride. When funds become available, I'll get that bagger! Ride Safe,
Harold
I'm 6'3"/245, The only thing I found that did not make me look like an elephant in a bathtub is a Softail with 3" forwards and some sort of mini-apes. That looking in the store window is a good suggestion and you'll be surprised what you look like, even on your present ride..
