Default Quick kill switch question

I removed all the electrical from my handle bars and am now trying to bypass the kill switch... There's only two wires to it so in theory you could just hook them together and be done right? Well when I do that I still can't get her to fire... Am I missing something stupid?

You should just join the wires but check there is power to the coil as the kill interupts the supply to the starter switch and the coil, make sure the feed to the coil is not lost during your clean up.

Yah, so it is an interrupt in the "hot" wires. I have all the wires removed from the bars right now, my headlight works great, just trying to figure out the Kill switch there's only two wires to the kill switch correct? I just need to figure out where to jumper it at the connector on my 95. I de pinned it removing my wires and I might not have them placed back in the correct position

You should have a gray wire that brings power from the 15 amp Ign circuit breaker to the engine run/stop switch, then there is a white wire with a black stripe that takes power from there to the starter switch, coil and ignition module. The white/black wire goes into #3 in the connector. Your dealer can get you a wiring diagrams and electrical troubleshooting for all 95/96 models, Part number 99948-96. This book is worth it's weight in gold when you are troubleshooting electrical gremlins. Hope this helps.

This one goes into great detail in regards to wiring and electrical problems with all the model produced for the years it covers. Stuff like handlebar wiring is pretty much the same for all years using the same style controls, and a lot of other stuff is prety generic, so it will help you on other years too. It has saved me hundreds of hours over the years.

So I went and checked my connections, everything looked good but still no power to coil, I went and bypassed the kill switch wiring completely by puting a wire on the grey wire side of my ignition breaker and running it directly to my coil... Coil now has ignition power.... Still wont fire, battery was pretty dead so I have it charging right now... This has to be something simple and stupid caused by me because she ran great until I started thus project 2 days ago... Any suggestions

They won't fire if the battery is not up to it, try again with a full battery before looking into anything else.....you got spark?
