Default Will a weak battery cause this?

Its just dying! No warning no sputter no nothing. It does refire after I wait about 30 to 45 minutes. It's a 1996 Road King that has been converted to a carb. It runs excellent when its running. It's happened the last two times I have ridden it. Once in stop and go traffic and once going down the road at 60 mph. I have not tested the battery I know it's week and I will replace it this month because its been in there for 5 years with NO trickle charger in between rides or over the winter. I had a top end done back in the spring if any of that matters. Like I said it runs excellent until it dies.

What are all the other electronics doing?
A dead battery and bad alternator or bad connections can cause the bike to die, but then it wont start up again.
My internet guess is the main circuit breaker.

Everything else works. Lights, blinkers, horn they all work. The starter will spin the motor just acts like no fire.

I would guess ignition coil. Or loose/bad connection.

Mine did something similar when the ignition switch went bad. Ran fine, then wouldn't fire up, but lights worked, ran fine, then the switch totally went and nothing worked.

I'm going with a bad pickup in the cone or maybe a bad ignition module, but probably the pickup.

Ignition somewhere is getting hot and failing, like above probably in the nose cone.

I will double check cable connections when I replace battery. It definitely could be the ignition getting too hot. Thank you guys for your input it is appreciated. I can usually go to the search feature and find whatever I need, no luck on this subject.

Then it wont be the main breaker. yea to something getting hot.
i am not real familiar with the evo, but believe the crank positioning sensor and the ignition are both in the nose cone as one unit. I would see if you can pick up one on e-bay.
also heard of guys that had pretty good luck checking out the coil with a heat gun, but never tried it.
