Default Two relays

Morning guys. I was wondering if anyone knew why, when I apply front or rear brakes, it energizes two relays. I had a strange noise after the bike got warmed up whenever I was stopped and had the brakes applied. It is a stock 98 Road King. Thanks for any thoughts. Charlie

What do the relays energize? They might have been added to separate a heavier load to stop blowing fuses.

Thanks for the reply Ranger. I put some bum info on there. I got my VOM out and can't see any voltage transfer. Guess the brake light relay was making the starter relay sound and feel like it was opening and closing. I still have a strange noise when stopped, idling(around 1200rpm) and have the brakes applied. Sounds like it is coming from the starter area. Going on a big ride tomorrow with the local Harley shop, maybe someone will know what's happening. Thanks again.
