Changed the whole look
1. Pulled off all the tins and side panels, cleaned them with acetone, used 600 grit wet/dry to scuff up original paint, also used scotchbrite pads too.
2. Now this is gonna blow ur mind, I used John Deere Black muffler spray paint! Yup, that's right, rattlecan-ed it!!! Saw this video on You Tube about how it looks almost identical to Harley Denim Black. And IT DOES!!
3. Sprayed first coat, let it dry about 10 min, used a tack cloth, spayed it again, let dry another 10 ( it was 46 deg. outside when I did this in garage)
4. Eventually sprayed 4 coats on everything. Then turned on the heat lamps, heaters , whatever I had on hand to get things toasty.
5. Let everything sit for a full 24 hrs and started back with assembly.
6. The trunk came from a company out of Cali. already painted Vivid Black, it is ABS plastic.
7. The wing came from a company out in Ft. Worth..it is a cheap alternative to an actual HD wing and is made of Fiberglass and was only gel-coated, so I had a pro shoot the glossy black on it.
8. From tear down to back together, about 5 days (avg. 4 to 5 hrs a day)
