Default Big Inch Evo

My 124" S&S Evo has been an absolute joy to own in the Road King.Any of you running this motor find that it runs cooler,(160+)than a stock motor?Mine does, and have checked the temp with several different types ofgauges.

Dog, what were running before the crate motor change? Did the jump make any difference to your ins premium?

I'm runnin my stock 80" witha Full Sac kit and muggler re core and am pretty happy.

When the Summer hits, I hope to feel a heat difference. Is the 160+ an oil temp?

This was a ground up build, and have been told most Evo motors run in the 180 degree range. No, my insurance did not change. They base the premium on the model bike.

Thanks for the response. Excuse my lack of undestanding, but what do you mean by a ground up build. An S&S 124 ci EVO is not a new crate motor? Does the oil temp below 180 degrees not cause contamination issues in the Evo? I am just a basic level wrench, without any performance background.

I start with a bare frame and just piece everthing together. The S&S motor I bought in pieces,so I could polish all the aluminum, and assemble it myself. It is a passion I have. The transmission gets the same treatment. It is actually much cheaper for me to do it this way, because to get the performance and look I am after it has to be done by hand.
I wouldpost pictures of the 124" and the new bike a 155" Rk groundup, but for the life of me cannot get pictures small enough to post.Maybe when the weather warms up I willget some pictures on a different camera, and I have a computer guru friend that can help.

Flgeez,I did the show circuit for years withbikes and cars.Too much politics for me.Besides, mother and I enjoy cruising, hot rodding, and visiting a lot more.We even enjoy just parking the toys and looking at them, when the urge for a beverage hits.Once I finally get a handle on posting pictures you will see them.Mike
