Default Seat Question

Will the seat on the right in the pic fit a 1987 FLHTC? If so I might be looking for the back rest that fits it.

Sure looks different to me. I have the one on the right on my FLT. Are you talking about a passenger backrest or the rider backrest?

If the seat on the left is your current seat I'm gonna have to say no.
You might be able to make it fit though.

Yes, it will. It is the stock seat introduced in 1986 and supplied on my 1990. It hooks onto a tang on the gas tank by that plate up front and is held down by screws into those two holes you can see either side of the backrest hole. The screws go through the passenger grab handle.

PERFECT! I should have been clearer that both seats are for sale but I am interested in the one on the right.

Additional question. Do I need the passenger handles to make this work? If so, does anybody have them to sell? Also, does anyone have the backrest for sale?

Thanks!

Yes you do. The passenger handles are fastened to the central front screw on the luggage platform and, under the seat, to the fender. It would however be possible to make a simple plate and mount it on the fender, to take the seat.

It is not a very good photo, but this is what you want. The seat screws go through the outer-most holes.
