Hey Y'all I need your help. I have a 2006 RK Standard. I purchased a Rider Backrest with studs today. Page 398 in the HD Catalog Part # 52712-97 for $189.99. When I got home I went to install it and it would not fit. I have a stock seat. In the catalog it says this backrest will fit 97 and later Touring models equipped with slotted seat. does slotted seat mean another seat other than the stock seat? The stock seat of course is two pieces with a "slot" in the middle in between the driver's seat and the passenger pillion. Do I have the wrong driver backrest for this to work? Is a slotted seat different than the stock seat? I appreciate your help........I asked the parts guy if it would fit a stock seat before I even purchased it and he said yes....but I get it home and it does not fit. What do Y'all think? Thanks

i believe it fits the one piece seat with the actual cut out slot, such as the seats that are on the sgs'

they are for seats like the sundowner and the badlander,one peice seat with slot for the rider backrest,the backrest will not work on your seat[sm=biker2.gif]

Thanks alot guys! I wish the parts guy would have told me that before I bought it. Now I have to take it back in the morning and get my money back after I tried to install it. You think they will give me a hard time?
