Should be good bargaining chips. Needs new tires, likely needs a new battery, could need new fork seals or other rubber items. DEFINITELY bring a flashlight to check that tank for rust, smell the carburetor for varnish, and do alot of hemming and hawwing. You'll get some folks on here that will say "I wouldn't want a bike that was only ridden 1k miles in 14 years!" but that's bullshit. Any of us would take that bike in a heartbeat. My '96 had 11k on it and it's been just fine.
Not gonna be able to do anything on this tii next week, dang. But I found out some other info. on the bike. The owner forwarded receipts that showed 5k and 10k performed by HD. The 10k was done end of "1999". Bike now has only 11k on it. Original owner suffered some health issues around that time, and a friend would take the bike out for a short ride periodically since then, once or twice a year. Tires are over 10 years old. Bike always in heated garage. Still sounds like a "go-ahead" to me. Sucks having to wait another week.
From what you have said I don't see anything that screams NO to me.
After having sat up for that long you will find a few little things that need attention but what the hell it is a used bike and they all need a little attention.

Ok, Remember when you were a kid the night before Christmas? I tossed and turned all through the night, woke up ready to go yesterday (no alarm) 4:45 a.m. Today I am up early (no alarm) in my garage checking out every nook and cranny on my gorgeous 95 FLSTN! I am so tickled, it's been two seasons for me without a bike. I was going to wait until one of my daughters could help me post pics, but sometimes you guys are relentless ( not always a bad thing). I appreciate this site and the valuable information one can gain using it, although I do enjoy the entertainment value as well. Some funny mugs on here! But it did helped sway me with this purchase, thank you all! Anyway, Ill give the details when I post the pics. Rode her home from Port Huron, Michigan 200 miles late yesterady. Didn't bother me at all wiping some of the snot off my teeth. I was thinking to myself beforehand, I'm either going to love or regret buying into this whole evo thing. I will tell you this so far, I am already in love with this bike. From the choking of the carb, to the vibe, to the sound. Everything I never really knew I wanted, but never got from my twinkies. I am just ecstatic with the bike and whole new experience.
