So if were to find a stock exhaust of a FLH bike should this work on a Heritage Softie? I know I would have to make mounts and stuff for the left side just curious.
Dwatkins,
Not sure about the Hertiage...you need a bracket that comes off the solenoid w/ the two 7/16 bolts that reinforce for the rear cylinder exhaust and a method to mount the mufflers, I think it would be a simple modification....there are brighter gents here in the forums that are more qualified to answer...but I would have to look mine again.
For whatever reason the true dual exhaust system delivers a unique exhaust note. Took the bike out for a ride before the snow storm and actually felt much better bottom end torque!
The bend on the FLH exhaust is made for the touring primary, the bend is too "soon" for the softail primary which sits lower. It will work from a mechanical point of view but it will look like crap. The mufflers are made to mount to hard bags from the top and not the side on the frame. If you have fishtails how will that look?
