Anybody advance the cam in a EVO with a Andrews 27. Put the degree wheel on it after in stall and lobe center is a little retarded and i dont think i want that. Think this heavy ole pig would want the most bottom end. 2 to 3 degrees advance help it a little since i have to move the gear anyway? Or should i just lose my racing background and put it in straight up...
I don't believe the cam can be adjusted by a few degrees, if at all? May be wrong. I doubt if most of us have ever given that a thought when installing our EV27s! Might help if you put your racing background in its box while doing this job!!!!
I here ya on leaving it alone LOL Yep 1 tooth is too much. But there is no problem moving the gear a bit. Going to do it anyway because event timing is not what is advertised. Just wondering if anybody felt the diff in the butt dyno with advancing it a couple or 3 degrees.( not looking for top end just a nice flat torque line) Heck i twist about 5 cams a year for other motors changing cam timing when i cant press the gear off.(some do break not for the faint of heart)
Too much time on my hands, few more weeks and all heck breaks loss than it better be done .Wont even have time for internet.
Probably run like crap and i will drop it the first day LOL
Good ole days before internet you just tried it...didnt work oh well. Did work and you didnt tell anybody anyway
