When looking for batteries take care of cheaper ones. Harley batteries are good quality AGM types, so when looking at alternative brands take care to ensure you are comparing similar types. The two you mention are both AGM, which is a good starting point!!!!

Deka manufactures Harley's batteries: www.dekabatteries.com/default.aspx?pageid=10

Also, I was recommended to stay away from Chinese-made batteries. I had experience with two Chiese-made batteries that I purchased from Batteries Plus - one for my Harley and one for my Ducati.

The Ducati battery lasted six months and since been replaced with a Shorai lithium-phosphate type.

The Harley battery last one year and stranded me ~ 225 miles from home. I now have a Harley battery in it that is going on 2+ years with zero problems.

I believe Batterymart has a replacement guide on their website. The Big Crank is made in USA by Deka and has good reviews.

Take a look at this one. Double check that it's the right one for your model. The price seems right., http://www.batterymart.com/c-harley-...1980-1996.html

I got mine through Advanced Auto Parts. I used some online coupon that they had and ended up paying less than $80 for it. Be careful, they will point to the same battery for any Harley, and they're not the same. The one for my buddy's softail was a c-hair too wide for my Dyna. It's an AGM battery, and after the bike sat for a month it kicked right over no problem.

I am running a YUASA YTX20HLBS.
A little cheaper than Deca/Harley with more CCA's.
Made in the USA

I also have a YUASA and it's been good for about six years, might replace it this year since I'm taking a couple trips..I'll get the same one.
