"Been running a Harley battery for years"
Don't fix what isn't broke.
True, H-D batteries are manufactured by Deka and anyone selling a Deka battery will tell you they're identical, well they look identical.....
Call Deka (actually East Penn Manufacturing), they are similar not identical, the H-D batteries are superior in CCA, and aH. East Penn has an agreement not to manufacture a battery that is more superior that the H-D battery.

I've always recommended Deka because I've worked with them a long time in the transport refrigeration field. In the past 2 years I've seen many Deka's fail......again and again.........something happened with their quality. I now consider Deka unreliable and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Be very careful when shopping for a battery as the battery industry has gone offshore big time and its very difficult to actually acertain where a battery of any brand was actually manufactured .
Although the official Harley stocked AGM battery is a little pricey , its still the best i have used by far.

Interstate has been one of the best and the freshest AGM batts out there. If its been sitting at at harley dealer ship i seriously doubt they change it out .They just keep it till sold Not so with interstate.
They check stock every week if it aint fresh ...its gone. Also have somebody check CCA with a batt tester...most dealerships dont even own one. Interstate allways surpasses the advertized number Not so with wally world or some internet dump store...Were the old non fresh batts go to get sold at discount.

Apperantly not so. Quoted from the link you provided:

The national policy of Interstate Battery System is to recharge our batteries that are on a dealer's shelf or in our warehouse every 3 months in order to keep them fresh.

i e mailed batterymart i can't get a straight answer out of them as to which battery my bike takes. a friend order the wrong one and had to change his order. you would think they would know what fits what. i got my answer right from the deka web page, but battery mart needs to have better answers on the batteries they sell. still good prices and quick delivery.

Buying the cheapest battery you can get is probably not the best option.
