Looking for some options here, my fairly new "Harley" battery lasted me 1.5 years and I don't want to buy another one at the dealer for $150+ for such a short life. So what battery are you running that is a good "Harley" replacement? My stock battery is the 65989-97C model, so any recommended sites?
Advanced auto magna extreme has been great to me. Got it for 60 bucks with all their coupons. It was over a year ago but worth checking out. A bunch of members here bought it.
Not sure if this fits your bike but look for advance auto coupons online. Sometimes they offer 20% off first time online buyers. Buy it online and pick it up at the store.
I'm curious to see other options. I might just change it anyways.
I still have my original HD battery from 2008 and 17,500 miles later it still works. You must have got a bad battery IMO. $150 is a lot for a battery though when my SUV battery is almost 1/2 the price with 850cca and double the size. Supply and demand I guess.
Still running my 07 original battery, still going strong.
I believe HD batteries are Deka AGM batteries.
East Penn Manufacturing makes Deka batteries. dekabatteries dot com for a cross reference and retail sales or distributor.
I got mine from batteries plus 3yrs ago & it's still going strong. They're not cheap, I think it was only $15 less then Harley but it was Monday & my local dealer is closed on Mondays. It has a better warranty then Harley
