Will going up to a 500 cca battery do anything bad to our bikes?? I know when I went from a 700 to a 850 cca on my SUV it made a world of difference, but that's a big motor and big starter. My bike has always seemed to turn over slow, but I think it's normal hearing everybody else's and it's never not started. If bumping up the cca's will make my bike turn over better I might just get a new battery.
I put a 405 cca lithium ion battery on my dyna this morning after doing a cca test and a load test on the battery with no recharge time , battery was under 50% charge and bike had set 12 hours so it was a cold start . motor spun noticeably faster than with hd battery and the battery weighs 3.5lbs
Yep, the only 2 words you need to know about batteries is "BIG CRANK".
who do you think makes big crank ? do you know the true cca on a big crank battery ?
the answer is deka and im guessing your talking about the etx20l that's rated at 310cca ,17.5ah , the 310cca is over rated but has a better cca than the deka hd battery

No argument here! All I can say is the BIG CRANK easily spins my motor over.....much better than the Harley battery that I was using. And for $85 shipped it's about 30% less than Harley. However, this is only my opinion.
