Will going up to a 500 cca battery do anything bad to our bikes?? I know when I went from a 700 to a 850 cca on my SUV it made a world of difference, but that's a big motor and big starter. My bike has always seemed to turn over slow, but I think it's normal hearing everybody else's and it's never not started. If bumping up the cca's will make my bike turn over better I might just get a new battery.

your stock wires limit you more than your battery over 390 cca , so over that is over kill but is a 500 cca battery really 500cca ? the cca depends on how its tested and at what temp

theres a trick we use too do on some cars , run a 30 amp relay thru your starter curcit so your starter soleniod is getting a good current when you hit the start button, and yes size off leads do help with things,,,

I'm amazed at the variance in the life of batteries. I don't mean the flukes lasting 1.5 - 2 years. I mean 5 to even 10 years. That is amazing.

8 years on my original so far and it's been killed at least twice. Once while cranking a stubborn engine, and once leaving the lights on.

I make my own wires out of 4 gauge 100 amp wire with soldered on ends , you can get it cheap at stereo stores . I also run a 100 amp ground wire straight to starter
