Default Question regarding Hypercharger..

Ok, so I know everyone has their mixed opinions on hyper chargers. My question to you fine folks is this... the two rubber lines that come off the hyper charger and plug on to the engine... what exactly is the purpose of these.... and are there better lines I can get that will stay on better/ "Tighter"?

I used to have one years ago, on a Vulcan 1500, I remember one of the lines was a vacuum line from carb to the stock air cleaner that is used for suction to control the butterflies on the HC. The other I can't remember right now. If no one else chimes in, I'll post again if it comes to me.
I used small hose clamps to keep the connections tight

well what I'm finding is there are rubber 90* caps on the hoses rather then "hose clamps securing them to the engine.. and they don't fit all that tight.. I'm going to get the metal hose clamps and tighten them on. yess.... yess I am...

I stand corrected.. no, hose clamps wont work.. it has some odd bit on the end where the hose meets the engine. so i need the 90* bit, not really a big deal i suppose.. do they NEED to fit tight?

Obviously your setup is a lot different than mine-My Kaw was a 98 single carb. One line is vacuum & the other I think was connected to the float bowl vent. Yes, that have to be tight.

what would happen if they Were not completely tight? they look like they are just pressed on and there is nothing "securing" them to the bike. the one that sits behind the filter seems the loosest.

Did you install everything per your instructions? This is your breather hose. If it's loose enough that you could suck unfiltered air into the motor that could be a problem or you could get some oil dripping from it.

Loose fittings can cause everything from rough idle, stalling, hesitation, etc.
