I doesn't really matter. You'll fix one rattle or noise, and a couple of months later you'll be chasing a different noise. Such is the way these beasts are.

I put a thin strip of self-adhesive weather stripping on the trees where they come in contact with the fork tin. Reinstall the tin with blue Locktite. Never rattled again. Now if I could get the headlight bezel to stop rattlin. . . .

i took off the piece that covers the handlebars and noticed a white pad on the inside. pushing the cover piece toward the back of the motorcycle while tightening the cover screws (so the padding is pressed against the handlebars) eliminated the vibrating noise
