Put the shotgun shock on today. Pretty amazing really. Adjust the ride from hard to soft without changing the ride height. Travel from 1 inch above stock all the way down to rigid on the frame. Rides very well. I scraped the pipe twice on the first ride but I think I have it dialed in. Either way, I love it and I can't wait til tomorrow when I get it out and pound on it with some corners...see if I can't sharpen up my floorboards a little bit!
How was the install? How long? Too difficult?
I hear JD is the best of the best.
I think I'm jealous of ya!
The install was pretty decent. 3.5-4 hours. The only thing that really took some time was getting the compressor placed properly so we had clearance from everything. First test of the wheel, no rubbing anywhere, so I was pretty happy. All the wiring is plug and play and routes perfectly, the air line was simple. I think it's just doing one for the first time took a bit longer.
JD could not have made it easier to install, it really comes down to how many beers you've had before you start and while you're doing it when it comes to how difficult you want to make it for yourself.
I'll update tomorrow. I'm heading out early to see if I can set the height and soft/hardness to perform the way I want it. In theory, since it's a single body piece replacing two shocks it should ride tighter in the back end. You'll know when I know but I'll tell you the ride home was fantastic. In the 30 minutes I test rode it I was most impressed by how much you can change the firm/soft of the ride without messing with the height.
Looks very nice and I'm jealous haha!! Is that first pic all the way raised up?
No the first pic is where I set it to ride for the first time. I'll pull it out and get the full travel pics today and post them up. It goes wayyyy higher. I'll save that setting for when mama gets on the back.
Today I am going to try to ride it a little lower but stiffer, I'm thinking that's how it will stay for everyday riding.
