Pick up a used manual on ebay. That money you saved looks better in your pocket than someone else's. Same thing with maintenance. You can do it yourself and save $. When unsure, ask here.

Staying on top of things is the key to longevity with these bikes. And it's fun! Good luck with your new bike. YD

Do it myself, right, God knows I've got enough tools. So far things have been easy to figure out, and suprisingly, rather enjoyable too.

With the dry sump arrangement on our bikes gravity will only drain the oil tank, leaving dirty oil behind in the engine. I prefer to get all the old oil out when I do an oil change. The only way to achieve that on a Harley is to pump it out by running the engine. This gadget allows me to do that with no fuss and mess. It works for me.
