Still wish you would reveal what else goes in that tour pack besides cleaning supplies....or is it all cleaning supplies? Or at least tell us how much your gas mileage suffers with that airbrake on the back.

Just got back from a 2-up 200 miler....

On the way there, it had, spray-n-shine, windshield cleaner, roll of paper towels, microfiber cloth, cotton t-shirt, leather gloves, leather coat, small cooler with 3 bottled waters, ad 3 diet dews, cell phone charger, small tool kit, first aid kit, small air compressor, sun block.

On the way home the drinks were gone, but, I added 2 bottles of my favorite hot sauce and 1 pound of honey roasted almonds......

you asked........mileage was 38.5.

Well, I ran some seafoam through her and filled her up with premium. She was running like CRAP. I thought it was the premium since the PO told me he ran only regular.....

Ran a few tanks and switched back to premium......She's running better, and I don't baby her. I was twisting the throttle pretty hard to keep up with my friend on his new VStar.

After running premium all season, I'm doing a little experiment bumping down the octane level. 93-91 and just recently 89. I've only done about 20 miles since 89, so far she's still runs smooth. I'm trying to do the same type of riding to compare the gas mileage. Thinking about again, I do believe I'm about the same as you 2-up and highway so my opology for the geezer comment. City 2-up I've seen lower 30's. Anyone run 87 in theirs??

I like the new ones myself. The others were a little flashy for my taste. Too many logos, I guess.

Default Yes on 87 octane

Trail, my stock '99 runs fine on 87 octane. Mileage doesn't vary when switching grades. My mileage increased by 10 percent when I changed out my stock slip ons that had the baffles punched out. I found some screaming eagle slip ons at a dealer down here.
