in the northeast of usa i promise you won't see $8k. by your reaction to Doug i am willing to bet you wanna keep it. if you don't need the moolah then keep her undercover in the garage.
Really? Based on all you know about this? It's worth that much to me and others who have seen it. Thanks for your input though...I know you go out on a limb some times on this forum.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're not real fond of me, sorry but not sure why....This kind of came out of left field from the left coast.... This forum has a nice feature for this type of thing, consider it used...and feel free to do the same...

I agree. If you wait long enough you just might find someone willing to pay that much, but you might not either (especially at this time of year). For that price far newer bikes are available, and for most people newer = better.
If you can get $8k you better jump all over it. KBB retail is $5690 for excellent.
That is either last year shovel or first year evo (1984 1/2). That adds to collectible value but for $8k it would have to be museum quality. Looks like they are selling right under KBB if low miles, high miles are running around $4k.
dosn't matter what kbb says, the bike is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. i like hollowpoint's view, ride it and decide on the ride. how much is the guy you know willing to pay

And as shown, people aren't even paying KBB.
You can ask any amount you like.
Like you say, it's only worth what someone will pay.

That's not the case...I don't know you. I am aware 8k seems a little high. The bike is a late 83...one of the first evos off the line. When buying parts I have better luck in the 83 parts book. It will have some value to a collector some day but right now it's collecting dust. I'll take it out for a ride on thursday and try and get realistic about it.
Cheers!
I did a quick scan of 2007 touring HD's on ebay. The cheapest buy it now price was $10k, not counting the softail and the police bike. However, I do know where you can buy a 2007 RK with 56K, batwing with stereo for $8k. I thought it was a pretty good price. Let me know if anyone is interested.
That said, I did pay less than $6k for my 95 FLHRS with 50k miles.
