Default Part number help?

Hi everyone, I'm looing for a detachable two-up tour-pak mounting rack and/or detachable solo tour-pak mounting rack for a 96 FLSTN.

The part numbers in the new P&A book show only 2000+ but they are as follows:
Two up--53066-00C
Solo 53559-04A

I have searched the interweb, aftermarket parts, HD, and this forum and I can't find it anywhere.

Does anyone have better luck or resources than I? Ideally I could get my hands on a 99 P&A book and just look up the stupid part number. I think I can find it once I track that down.

When I was looking into luggage and racks, I was looking for that set up for my 95 Heritage and what I found was they don't make it. Someone suggested just buying it and then modifying it to fit my old bike. I ultimately decided not to do that because of the tour pack that goes along with it is ridiculously expensive for the capacity it gives. I went a much much cheaper route.

I think the parts and accessories book will have the Kit number not individual parts. Those individual parts ,if available seperately, are sometimes found in their instruction sheets.
Also,I have one of the 99 P&A catalogs but am not home to access it.

I'm told that they don't and didn't make one. If there happens to be a kit, fine, I can sort through it and figure out what part I need. If you wouldn't mind next time you have your book, let me know?

I looked for a tour pak for my 99' Heritage and was never able to find one. They offered one for the 97 through 99 Heritage Springers , but that was as close to one that I could find. It didn't fit my bike either.

I have a HD 99' parts and accessories book. There's no offering listed that I can find.

Today I took my sissy bar into TCHD. They had the 2000-current softail tour-pack detachable mount bracket in stock. I compared, measured, compared and measured. THEY ARE THE SAME. It fits. All this crisis has been averted. Thanks Prot, 01 and Iron for the feedback. If you're interested in the tourpak still...go for it! it fits just fine.

Damn it! Now I am crisis. I bought a small inexpensive rack and some luggage to bungee cord to it. Now I am thinking about selling that setup and going for this instead.

The biggest issue with this still remains. The leather heritage style tour pack that goes with that setup is around $679 on top of the cost of the rack and has a capacity that is less than even one of the two pieces of luggage I bought. Still, it does look good and gives a backrest for the long haul.

I have it pulled up and ready to hit send for 580 at Surdyke.com. My biggest hangup is that you can't lock the leather HD bag so I too am in a conundrum. I have leather pro saddlebags and they are amazing AND they sell a trunk for 420 that's nearly the size of the HD leather bag. It is a luggage rack mount but is much more locking that a travel bag AND it has a lock AND it opens from the side like the King Pak. The one thing it doesn't have is that passenger backrest.

Locking trunk that's smaller but looks every bit as good as the HD bag OR the HD bag that is QR with the full rack, costs $200 more and I can't lock it. Sometimes I hate being logical.

The breaking point on the HD ag might be that I can buy both the two up and the solo tourpak detachable mounts so when I take off for my summer trip without wifey I have a rider backrest.

Before you do that, let me tell you about my setup.

It starts with 5 Bar Sport Luggage Rack 53862-00 which I got on ebay for $46.05
Then I got Rolling Touring Bag-93300008 which has a capacity of 3,100 cubic inches at the dealer for $259. This mounts nicely to the rack.
Next I got Tail Bag-93300069A from the dealer for $169. This goes good on passenger seat or could go on the rack. When on the passenger seat, Premium Rider Backrest Pad-93300010 can be clipped onto it to make a backrest. This sell for $29

So, that is what I have now. These bags at first seem overpriced, but when you look and feel then in person, they are well made and they have very reflective piping which helps visibility at night. They also come with rain covers which also have reflective stripes.

I am thinking about adding Sissy Bar Backpack-93300007 which would be great for carrying a laptop. This back pack is specifically made for bikes so that the straps are not loose in the wind. It sells for $149.

So, there you have it. A very inexpensive versatile system that is functional and decent capacity.

Another thing I did was buy the easy brackets for my saddlebags as well as the easy totes. I have not installed those yet because my bike is in the shop for engine work. They should give the saddlebags more usefulness as well as make it easier to clean since getting them off will be a breeze.

In the spirit of wasting money and keeping continuity, I just order all the HD stuff. Solo, two-up, locking QR latches. If I can't fit all my crap with my setup then I'm packing too much crap.

Shut this thread down!!!
